Not a thrower. Remember slapping the driver head onto the ground a few times after a poor shot but that's been my limit

I have in the distant past thrown a club but not anymore, we have a few at the club throwers at the club which I now find quite funny. What gets me about them is the anger they express when they do it.

Now, that’s worse than throwing a club as it can affect others.

Not following you, slapping the head onto the ground as I watch my drive slice OOB has zero physical affect on any other player & way less (none really) psychological affect on them when compared to hurling a club into a tree, maybe I explained it poorly

I’ve seen plenty people doing hefty damage to a teeing area with a club.

This thread has brought back a hilarious memory: I was playing in a tournament in Austria (Dachtstein Tuaern Golf Club) when I was waiting for the group ahead to finish on 18 - an Island green. One of the players hit two approach shots in the water - one short, one long. He calmly put his wedge in his bag, walked past the green, stopped at the side of the water and tipped all his clubs in the water, put his empty bag on his shoulder and kept walking towards the parking lot and left..

I was angrier when I was younger, but certainly still get my moments of frustration and despair. Especially when you hit the shot fat at least a dozen times a round, there is only so much a man can take. If I have thrown my club, I've never done it in an instant red mist, it is more of a casual fling towards my bag. So, I've never instantly thrown it in any given direction around me, and put bystanders at risk. I've played with a few golfers over the years who do throw the club, with force, in any random direction, and seen it narrowly miss other golfers.

Played with a chap once who hurled his driver high and to the left of the tee box. It got stuck about 30 foot high in a tree, and he couldn't get it back.

Played with another guy who slammed his 3 wood against his bag, and the head fell off. He threw the head into the trees and walked down the fairway. Halfway down the fairway, he remember he had insurance, and so sprinted back to find the head.

This is me…my throws are more a gentle and casual chuck out of frustration - and I’m a bit surprised that almost half of our respondents haven’t even done that…🤔

Yeah, I've known the most mild mannered of people throw a club in gentle frustration before.

So, when almost half the people in this forum say they have not, despite many spending hours debating and arguing about things like how much they hate certain golfers, which footballers they want to punch or prepared to start WW3 due to their hatred of WHS or LIV, then it shocks me that so few clubs have been thrown by these people :ROFLMAO:

Had a bit of a temper when younger on the course but never been one to throw clubs about. Miby swore at them but never threw any about. The thought of one snapping, say a driver nowadays your 5 hundred quid for another.

I think it’s terrible to see the guys on tour do it but at least it’s understandable to an extent the pressure they’re playing under, especially guys out there playing for their cards/livelihoods. Not someone playing their Wednesday medal at their club or their mates for a fiver. Bonkers.

I think it's the frustration of golf rather than the importance of it. Professionally I wouldn't get angry and could remain calm .
Although I have in the past thrown a club even then it was rare, nowadays its a very occasional drop in disgust. but the frustration of golf is very different from the importance of the real word.

I am shocked…shocked I tell you…that so few from time to time chuck their club to their bag in frustration at a rubbish shot …there was me thinking that everyone did it..I must examine my behaviour…😳😇

Voted yes.

In my first year or so of golfing when just playing with mates it happened a couple of times. Silly thinking back as I wasn't even very good so what did I expect?

I've grown up a lot since, especially since having kids and just appreciating being out there playing - wouldn't even cross my mind now.
