Had a bit of a temper when younger on the course but never been one to throw clubs about. Miby swore at them but never threw any about. The thought of one snapping, say a driver nowadays your 5 hundred quid for another.

I think it’s terrible to see the guys on tour do it but at least it’s understandable to an extent the pressure they’re playing under, especially guys out there playing for their cards/livelihoods. Not someone playing their Wednesday medal at their club or their mates for a fiver. Bonkers.
You'd just replace the shaft, not the whole thing

Once . Last year when I was playing bad and hooked another drive . Threw the club into the bush. My mate laughed as he never seen me throw a club (prob because it was the first time lol)

I do however have a water bottle I use for golf that's got a massive dent in it from my pitching wedge. One of the worst rounds I've played , last hole I got really angry and just hit my bag with my club. It dented my bottle lol I carry it still as a reminder
Was talking to a lad in the clubhouse after a round a couple of weeks ago. He said the same, hit a poor wedge shot and in frustration hit his bag with the wedge. Next tee he goes to get his driver out and only half it comes out, grabs his 3 wood instead and only a third of it came out. Snapped both shafts, costly mistake.

This thread has brought back a hilarious memory: I was playing in a tournament in Austria (Dachtstein Tuaern Golf Club) when I was waiting for the group ahead to finish on 18 - an Island green. One of the players hit two approach shots in the water - one short, one long. He calmly put his wedge in his bag, walked past the green, stopped at the side of the water and tipped all his clubs in the water, put his empty bag on his shoulder and kept walking towards the parking lot and left..
One of the team players at my old club had a poor round and walked off the 18th tee and over to a rubbish bin. Proceeded to snap every iron shaft over his knee, put them all in the bin and walked away.

This thread, along with some of the others (I'm going to x for a few days - can I find a course to play, etc) makes me wonder if:

a. People realise this is just a hobby/game
b. People have extreme compulsive behaviours where they think they will explode if they don't play for a day or two.

Either way, these tendencies could indicate some sort of mental health issue.

PS - partly tongue in cheek, but I do sometimes worry about some people on here.

It's just frustration, if you're the competitive type and you want to play well. In the heat of the moment there is anger at performing way below the level you expect, and rather than bottle it up it feels better to release it. I get angry on the course, but I'd rather shout and swear and get it all out of my system by the time I'm on the next tee. Whereas if I bottle it up then I'm still angry 3 holes later.

Some people don't care so much about their score, but I believe they are the minority.

It's a golf forum. What exactly is wrong with people asking for course recommendations? I'd say that's exactly the sort of thing that it should be used for!

Missed the point entirely. My comment is about those obsessives who post about going on a family holiday and want to escape away from the wife and kids to go and play golf. Heaven forbid they should have to have family time and miss out on a round of golf for a week of so.

I personally wouldn't do that but so what if someone wants to? Id say the fact that you are even commenting on here shows that you are more of a golf addict than the average player

I've been on holiday with my brother, his wife and their 2 year old son. After only a day or so, I'd completely understand if my brother wanted to escape for a round of golf, and he doesn't even play golf. I'd also completely understand my sister in law wanting to escape from them both as well.

Families are chaos, especially with young kids :ROFLMAO:

I've never thrown a club or even seen anyone throw a club in 18 years of playing. Nearest I've seen was a 3 wood stuck in a tree for about a month.
I don't honestly think I would play another round with someone if they did it whilst playing with me, I wouldn't feel comfortable being with them.

Jeez......driving a car with all the other crazy badly behaved drivers out there must really kill you.

I have been known to release the club behind me at the top of my follow through after a bad drive. Did it a couple of times in my last round, first time I'd done it for several years. Mind you, it was probably my 10th poor tee shot of the round, was getting a bit frustrated.

Might chuck a wedge a couple of yards over to my bag too, or into the ground. Like swearing, it's an instant release, I can laugh about it 3 seconds later.
