Club manufactures stuff you don’t like?

Does anyone else have one manufacturers clubs they just don’t like or suit their eye etc.

obviously the answer to this is yes, but I'm not one of them.

clearly there are individual clubs, or ranges, that just don't look right to me but, over the 35 years I've been swinging there's only really Cleveland that haven't been in the bag - but I can't think of a single one of their clubs that doesn't look right either, it's just that I've bought something else at the time! (actually on reflection I've never played a Nike club either)

I seem to be somewhat unusual on here in that I consider what the club can do for me on the course rather than what potential impact might result from being seen to play a particular brand!

Anything big and chunky, which is pretty much all manufacturers these days. So rather than individual manufacturers, maybe I just don't like certain styles. Give me a nice clean topline and not too much offset.

But do hate Nike balls, even the premium ones feel clunky.

The new Rocketballzier stuff that TM are producing... Actually anything TM are producing. I mean Rocketfuel on the shaft is a step too far and something I would expect to find on a Dunlop starter set from sports direct.

The Ping G25 range has caught my eye though

I'm going to continue with my TM

Have you seen the adverts on the golf tonight with the TM pros looking like right Berks saying they are for example Justin rosier and so on, I believe they even have it on there bags. Now TM are aiming at younger players and I was 27 a few days ago and I just think there new stuff is shocking and crap. I've also noticed that not too many on the forum have rushed out to buy the new TM stuff.

I did enter the TM competition as it would have been over a £1000 worth of free clubs but I reckon everyone would rather it have been a Ping or Titleist fitting LOL :whoo:

Goodnight god bless!!!

not everyone - I wouldn't have entered if it had been......as I don't most of them.

Do you honestly like there new stuff and the gimmicks they are coming up with? Like Lethal balls and the new paint job on the crowns of the woods, slots in irons that do nothing and so on?

I was a massive fan of TM up until recently when they decided to let school kids design and market there brand.

Never really been a fan of Ping stuff, apart from the Anser putters. It just doesn't look right to my eye.

I'd like to stick up for Callaway a wee bit, though. I have the Diablo Tour Edge driver and it's a lovely looking thing. Having said that, I hate their irons.

I wasn't a Tm fan until I got my RBZ hybrid live it. I must be in the minority again as like the callaway stuff ! Although I don't like the look of their current offerings! Love my razr hawk when it behaves!

you have been reading too many forum posts regarding slots as gimmicks.

I think I was just about the only person who commented favorably on the look of the R1 (before the fitting got announced!) although I wouldn't buy it for the looks, I am only interested in whether it works for me. I still like the way my Ping Eye driver looks at address - but it doesn't get a look in, and hasn't, for many generations of driver since (I still take it out occassionally :)). The G25 looks nice, and the new Callaway woods, and some others....

I am extremely interested in the Rocketblade TP irons and will trial them at some stage - they are the only irons I'm interested in; fundamentally mine work fine :)

you werent the only one , and I think the bladez tour is a very good looking iron. The RBZ stage 2 3 wood is getting great reviews as well.

Mizuno and Taylormade.

Don't like looking down on anything with a thick top line either

it is indeed - but having the stage 1 14.5 TP I can honestly say I simply don't need 'more' anything there, and both the Rescue 11 TPs are staying too :) (it appears a few Tour pro's still use these too)

Re the rescues, go try the rbz2 rescue! I thought my 11tp would be a sure thing in my bag for life, but regardless of my lucky break for next week, I would have been replacing the 11tp for an rbz2 rescue... They are immense!

this is not what I wanted to hear......so in best forum tradition I won't listen

tbh it's as much the head on the 11's as anything else, it just works for me better than the more rounded style (have BSuperfast rescues as well which go well but don't give me the same confidence...)
