No Irukandji on this side of OZ......but in the early 80's when I was in Cairns they were everywhere, hence no swimming in the surf, I was lucky to be told by a local just before I went in at place called Clifton Beach about 15 miles north of Cairns, not a hotel to be seen, now they have taken over.…hopefully not having to worry about there being any Irukandji about.
That was one thing that I didn’t appreciate about the glorious coastline of mid-northern Queensland…tricky swimming much of the year - even though you might see a saltie you wouldn’t escape it, and as far as the Irukandji and their mates
