Everyone has to start somewhere, if that is his genuine h/c then what is the probelm?
So should everyone that takes up golf be made to play off scratch then?
If I had 23 shots I would be looking to get more than 45 points, that's all I am trying to say, am not knocking the guy but just thought he could have done better.

Bomber ... Your out of sink, I'm pretty sure that the handicap limit went up from 18 to 24 so there's gonna be high scores at some point.

It's like saying why can't you run the 100m in 10 seconds!?
Or if you were given a 20m headstart against Usain Bolt you woud still struggle to beat him.

It's designed to encourage the high handicapper though, they should put the limit to 18 and have 2 for 1's on range tokens.
Was that not just for women?
Do blokes really need 2 shots at some holes, I thought with all this new technology going about that the game was getting easier.
I used to be able to run the 100m in under 10 but then chipped an nail and it played havock with me so I gave up running and took up golf....

So he's not as good a golfer as you, and yes you might be upset if you came in with an 86, but it's the best he's ever done. I'm sure you were happy when you first broke 100. Did people say "why are you so happy? 100 stinks"?

What about senior golfers who used to play of loweer h/c's but now play off 21 for example, should they not be allowed 2 shots on a hole?
Have no idea cos I ain't never shot any where near that amount, even when I started.

I can see your point. Personally, I can't wait til I get my handicap down to 18. Actually looking forward to not having 2 shots on any holes.
Range tokens wouldn't help though. You can learn to hit a ball there, but it can't prepare you for what happens out on the course.

Surely you should keep quiet about having a shot on any hole with you being such a good golfer?
If you want to elitist then everyone should play off scratch on a course that measures over 7,500 yards.
