Not a celebrity as such, but the Duchess of Kent.
I'll always remember she had a lovely smile!

Just heard that she stepped away from royal public life many years ago and worked incognito teaching music in primary schools. Wow.Not a celebrity as such, but the Duchess of Kent.

Oh that's a shame. I hadn't heard he was ill.Just heard that Rick Davies (Supertramp) has gone - on 5th Sept after a long and serious illness - Multiple Myeloma…the same debilitating illness that took my brother-in-law late last year…
Supertramp made music of my life since I borrowed CotC from a mate in 1974/75 before buying it myself…can recall that very clearly - and this news is very sad.
I remember back in the day watching Supertramp on BBC2 on a Thursday evening - live concert. I thought at the time, what a fantastic band and a privilege to watch. My thoughts have not changed and they're up there with one of the best bands of their time.Just heard that Rick Davies (Supertramp) has gone - on 5th Sept after a long and serious illness - Multiple Myeloma…the same debilitating illness that took my brother-in-law late last year…

Was that Sight and Sound In Concert, in 1977 or 1978 (during the tour for Even In The Quietest Moments)?I remember back in the day watching Supertramp on BBC2 on a Thursday evening - live concert. I thought at the time, what a fantastic band and a privilege to watch.
Yes I think it was, Sight and Sound in Concert! Supertramp, super band! Was that Sight and Sound In Concert, in 1977 or 1978 (during the tour for Even In The Quietest Moments)?
That was recorded at my uni (Queen Mary College), and I remember the mad scramble to get tickets. We had quite a few SASIC there, but Supertramp was the biggest of them all.
Thing about Supertramp - and it still is a thing - is that it's not easy (impossible?) to pidgeon-hole them...is it pop; is it prog; is it rock; is it a bit jazzy? One Youtube reflection I heard, and could resonate with, was they were like Steely Dan - not music style-wise, but great music that's difficult to put anywhere - so I for one didn't try - I just enjoyed it for what it was - great, great music - and so it will remain.Yes I think it was, Sight and Sound in Concert! Supertramp, super band!
You sound about as old as me! I also remember getting ready to go out on the Thursday, (start of the weekend) at around 7 in the evening but had to watch the concert first. Happy days![]()

The great Charlie Kirk.
Father of two has been assassinated.
He was a great advocate of free speech, I'm just so sad.
RIP Charlie.

It does seem ironic that someone so fervently against gun control got shot by one of the nutters whose rights he was trying to protect.

As the democratic senator and his family in Minnesota shot by a republican. That's appalling. Which belief are you referring to? Their politics or they owned a gun?
Let's not get political, but when you see a protest, those with masks are usually the nut cases.
The real irony is that he was killed because of his views, probably by someone who'd call themselves a "Democrat."
Luckily they only have milkshakes over here.As the democratic senator and his family in Minnesota shot by a republican.
Their politics is irrelevant. It's the ease of which firearms can be bought and the access to which is the issue
