Great thread!
Last winter our course was so boggy that trolleys were bannned for a while. When we got used to carrying, we liked it for all the reasons stated - so much less fuss to set up, and easier to go where you want to. I'm trying to remember why we went back to trolleys. Oh yes, some time around April the weather got hot, and we are not in our first youth. Looking outside now, looks like we could go back to the carry bags!

I would always prefer to carry my bag, especially now that we have those double straps over the shoulders leaving both hands free. It's nice to walk along the fairway eating your banana and carrying your brolly. However, the old body won't stand it anymore and I have just invested in a nice remote-control trolly which has given me the 'hands free' facility I like, without the weight. I just stroll around as if I had a caddy. It doesn't beep at all, it just needs the odd nudge on the contoller to keep it on the straight and narrow, and when I approach the green I just have to take my putter out of my bag and send the trolly on it's way towards the next tee. The trolly doesn't have to go anywhere near the green or aprons. It's brilliant.
