carry or trolley

Yes, but last winter we had a trolley ban - carry or die!

Fair enough. I used to have a Mizuno Aerolite 2 and it was good but since changing to the Ogio Grom the extra weight & space of the bag has lead to being knackered by the 15th. I might try and flog the grom and get a lighter stand bag.

I use a pull trolley on my home course which I store at the caddyhouse. Abroad I use a carry bag and I enjoy carrying especially on hilly courses. Friday we played on a particular hilly course and me and my pal were carrying whereas my wife pulled her bag on a trolley. She promised that she will carry next time, too.

But I have to admit that sometimes after carrying I suffer from backpain in the evening.

It's not the weight of the bag parmo.....it's what you put in it. I doubt the Grom's more than 4-5 lbs, whats a lightweihgt one 2-3 lbs? I can't see it being a great weight saving.

Do you carry a whole set?
I like taking a lightweight bag with reduced set
(3-wood, 7 wood, 5,7,9,SW putter)and limited extra clothing.
think I'd peg out if I carried the whole lot - must be keeping you fit!

Hi AliB
I carry most of my clubs (driver, hybrid, 6, 7, 8, 9, pw, sw & putter) with limited clothing.
I still have my trolley if I need it but hope to carry as much as possible.
And yes I hope it will keep me fit aswell ;)
The bag I use is the Callaway Strike Light Stand Bag, it's really comfy hence why I have it.

If you like carrying try using a Titleist pencil bag - awesome and really lightweight.

The only reason I use an electric trolley sometimes is to carry extra gear (clothing) as carrying a heavy bag can be bad for the back - not when carrying, but picking it up and taking it off - lots of heavy twisting can be pretty dodgy if you have a history of back pain.

Carrying gets rid of the hassle of getting your clubs onto a trolley and getting the trolley ready. you can just pick up and go. I use a trolley for competitions though as the steel shafted irons become tiresome after a few holes.
