Hi all I'm in the market for a new trolley I had the ct6 and it was great but getting on a bit, I'm currently looking at remote trolleys but I'm also stupid and think I'll send it in a bunker or worse 😂
I like the compact trolleys which is the M7 remote, MGI zip nav and Stewart (to a degree) in the remote category non remote would be the MC M5 or pk CT10 I'm just wondering if any one has any thoughts, what do you use and feedback

When it comes to remote control trolleys at our place the main one people have is the Stewart

Seen one person with the Motocaddy one

But most have the Non remote

It will depend on what you want on it

If it’s just standard press and go then you won’t go wrong with the m1 or the new S1

If you want a bit more like GPS then the m3 or m5 with GPS are good

The new Powakaddys are supposed to be a huge improvement on their previous models

I have the standard m1 with extended battery , for me it’s exactly what I want , it’s light , folds down small - simple click and go

Seems to be the steward at mine too but they are heavy and cumbersome that's the biggest criticism, GPS isn't a deal breaker as I use a watch, I'm swaying more to the pk Rx but the front wheel not folding is going to be an issue carrying it up the stairs and that leaves the M7 but that has no carry handle but wheel folds down, don't get me wrong I didn't have any issues with the ct6 I'm wouldn't bother me going with something similar, I
'm just wanting to get the best bang for my buck, and i quite like the idea of not having to walk round the green for my bag

Me personally I don’t see the need for remote control - in the winter there is a little bit of pain where the trolley can go etc but summer time then I can’t recall too many times where having a remote will help

We jokingly said to a new swindle member that we banned people with remote control trolley - the next week he turned up without it and new one 😂 afterwards he said he was glad to swap it

The folding front wheel is something one of the PK doesn’t do , regular playing partner has the Ct6 - seems very good and they appear a little bit more sturdy

I was the same didn't see them need for it but after playing with some people that use them they do like them and recommend them but I don't want to feel like an (explicit word) when I'm using it lol I'm thinking I might just go with the powakaddy CT10 not much different from my old one but I'm not going to rush into it

The equivalent Motocaddy is the the m3 and is up to £200 cheaper

The Ct10 is just a little bit smaller and lighter

I dismissed the M3 for the M5 but think I'll have another look at that, I'm going to pop down affordable golf and American golf and see them hopefully demo a couple and see what I think

The M5 just has a slightly better GPS and is just very slightly lighter - and it’s blue compared to yellow

It often boils down to do we want a PK or MC.

I took ages to decide and went for a PK CT8 GPS with EBS and a 36 hole battery.

I wouldn't go for an extended battery next time, as most 18 holes will stretch to 27 and I charge after every round anyway, not trusting it for 36 - go figure!

Only reason I didn't go for a remote is because I think (as many do) you look a complete wazzock!

I’ve just upgraded from a 2016 m3 pro to the m1 with 36 hole battery. I didn’t want the gps function as it’s more to go wrong, didn’t do the dhc has that hurts battery life.

Great trolley and the new all season wheels are awesome.

I've had the M3 DHC since Covid, coming up on 1000 rounds with it....18 hole battery could still do 36 easily..
Feels like it'll go on forever....

I have the MC M7 remote (non GPS). I wouldnt go back to a non remote one.
Being able to walk bolt upright with hands in your pockets is great, warm for my hands and excellent for my back. It folds up small, and the carry bag for it has handles.
A freined has the MGI, but it isnt' wearing very well and the remote doesnt have an on/off button, so its too easy to send across into bunkers with the remote in your pocket (the MC does have an on/off button on the remote).
Another friend has an older Stewart. It is almost Triggers brrom, and costs a small fortune every time it has to go away or needs parts (the plastic isn't robust for a start). He wouldnt buy another.
When I got my M7, I had ordered a Stewart, but they kept delaying the delivery date and their customer service wasn't that bothered really. I'm glad they were like that, I love the M7.
Theres always someone who wants to take the pee, but then them having a £500 driver in their bag doesn't mean they are a golfer;)

My m3 come to me used, estimated around the same and at 10yrs old it would still do 36 too. I only treated myself because of the older winter wheels are hedge hogs and pick up a lot of mud in the winter, being a hilly course the normal wheels can spin.

It seemed the more I read, the more complex the trolley the more common the issues

I had the OG motocaddy M1 pro. picked it up in 2013. was a lovely trolly. 36 hole battery , sold it in 2020 when i joined my place as I found a push trolley was suiting my needs at that moment

decided to treat myself this year going for a Powercaddy CT6 (2025 model) 36 hole with the EBS braking system. didnt bother with the GPS just because I already have a watch so seemed a bit of an overkill.

Well I had a play around with some and I'm more narrowed down to the PK CT10 or MC M7 remote, I'm just deciding whether remote or non will be more suited for my needs the PK Rx remote looked and felt good but the weight and no folding wheel will become an issue so a non starter I now know I want another compact trolley
@Bunkermagnet how is the weight on the M7 and is it easy to carry
Cheers for the feedback guys really appreciate it

All remotes are heavier than non remotes, as they normally have 2 motors. The M7 folds up quite small, so its easy to get into the boot and out of sight.

Another thing I didn't even think about is my umbrella, in the rain Im close to my trolley keeping me dry as I walk, I think that could be an issue with the remote

Surely you just carry it and hand hold it?
I dont use an umbrella as I find they are too low when trolley mounted for my eyes or head. There's also no chance of the trolley being blown over with an umbrella up;)

True, I like it in the holder as I walk but agree you need to crouch down a bit to see were your going, think I'm looking for excuses now lol
