Just cancelled my sports package,I don't enjoy or watch it enough to justify the cost. I don't do footy at all. Golf in my view is appalling especially the American coverage, that's just an ad fest. I'm surprised they don't squeeze an ad in on a back swing. I'm basically paying for one game of Rugby League. Anyway how come if I ad a package I'll have it in less than 15 mins but when I cancel it takes 30 days?

You pay in advance so if it cancelled tomorrow you are missing out

I am a big sports fan and in my opinion if Sky Sports are doing the coverage, rather than a feed from a host broadcaster, then they do it superbly whatever the sport. The US sports are ad fests because that is what the hosts are showing. In the UK they do a lot of breaks in the build up and at half-time and after but at least you get uniterrupted coverage and the best commentary teams in the business

I usually take it on for a month when the Ryder Cup is on and then cancel it straight away.
That really upsets them.
When I get the never ending phone calls I just tell them I can't afford it.
Life is too short to sit and watch non stop adverts and listen to idiots talking rubbish.

Always found tehm to be happy doing that - last year they said "Ryder Cup only?" as soon as we phoned them. I think they are happy enough to get the extra money.

Big big big - in fact HUGE rookie error cancelling just before the Ryder Cup!

In reality it really doesn't though.

I wouldn't be without the sports package.Sky do it better than anyone else in this country.

he wont miss it, takes 30 days notice.

Think I'll be cancelling after the RC, I'll miss golf but can get the fix from the T'interweb.

mate I'm not bothered for watching it it'll be an ad per putt....tedious in the extreme. TBH Sky do other sports really well, the RL coverage is spot on, some of the guest commentators are pretty poor though but on the whole it's good but I just don't watch enough for the price it costs.

just got rid of ALL my sky stuff and got virgin,no sports package and not missed anything really, got fed up of watching the golf it was getting boring and to be honest the ryder cup is getting the same way just another ad mans dream, will watch the highlights on another channel.

At £52 quid a month I fancy canning Sky altogether, freeview now in my area so tempted to go the free route. I heard so many times that if you ask to cancel Sky that they offer you a reduction just to keep you subscribed. So I might put that theory to the test. ;<)

I couldn't live without Sky sports, i'd much rather sit and watch golf with adverts than watch all that reality pish they show on the likes of ITV and so on.

Considering canning mine. Its got upto silly amount with the sky sports added. I think its over the £80 a month now including the Phone and Broadband. Can watch football at the club or go to a pub but will miss the golf. Most of the boxing has gone to Boxnation now so wont be missing out there.

TBH I thought the same but no, they just asked why I wanted to get rid of the sports, I didn't say "I cannot afford it" just that I didn't watch it enough so they just accepted it.

Have a chat with a good mate who may have SS. Get his password and log on through the 'net. Bung him a few quid, sorted! Better still. If a neighbour has BB and SKY go halves with them. You get BB they get SS and log into each other via the 'net.

I grew up watching Stevo and crew week in week out over the season. It was a family tradition to sit down and watch as many games as possible over each weekend. Superleague and Sky really brought us together as a family right from the off in the 90s!

I miss it now, been away from home for 5 odd years and that tradition is still something I try and do whenever I make it back to my parents house.

Also grand finals were a regular weekend away trip, always an amazing experience, I have been to more than I can remember!
