I can honestly say Bourn is a better course than either of those. It's far tougher too. One thing I will give Meridian is that the greens are generally more receptive. Greens are generally hard and fast all year round at Bourn but this adds to the overall challenge of the course - a challenge that neither Girton or Meridian offer. The comment about the opening Par 3 is a reasonable one, it is a tough opening hole but IMO there are no easy holes so it starts as it means to go on.
I played Meridian many times before joining Bourn and it's a fun course to play but much of it is benign (with a few notable exceptions such as the 16th 'Bunker Hill').
Bourn is also a member of the Smarter Golf Network (as is Girton), so you get reciprocal membership of 24 other courses:
