I did it in about 2001 for nearly 10 years, and then started again with a vengeance!

No point in fighting it, and it's a fully reversible decision.

Lots of advice on offer, none from me, I doubt you need it. Good luck with whatever you decide. I'm typing to remind myself how much this game is in my very nerve system. The thought of never playing again feels like a very serious bereavement. I absolutely adore this game and would be bereaved without it.
