Just got an email to say ive been selected to attend at st andrews next tuesday so pretty excited.

Never been to KoD event before but know some on here have.... what can I expect? Is it a full day or will I have time to get a game in while up there?

It's a really good day out. I've been to 2. The best part is the "media" section... Rob Lee of Sky Sports is there, he does some fake interviewing with some people of each group, it's a really good laugh.

And there's a chance for your group to all win a new driver... so that's good too!

Last year I won a jumper for being best dress (aka loudest trousers)... so you might want to dust off the Loudmouth trousers if you have them!!

If it's the same format then you are put into groups of about 10 and you do a round robin covering putting, short game, irons, hybrids, driving, media, tour bus, often Big Joe Miller the world long drive champ is there doing his show and normally 3 pros, previously have had Danny Willet , Alex Noren, Alvaro Quoros, amongst others
Dennis Pugh coaching too.

Unbelievable day , enjoy👍

Take your thermals and wooly hat, stiff northerlies and very low temps expected for forseeable. Could be Kings of no distance!;) Winter has re-arrived this morning, baltic...brrrrr

The last one I did was at the London Club and it was blowing about 45 mph - we still did it though!

next week might be OK;)

pretty cold and windy here at the moment, snow due later. if it was tomorrow though, could be some very long drives going, the range at St Andrews will be down wind;)

What - why is this so far north, can't they host these event in the South so more can have the chance of attending?!

:whistle::whistle:

Ahem...Warwickshire last year, Kent 2015, seems fair enough.

Where there's a will.....;)

i was at the last event and thought it was a croc of crap. they have you hit your driver against the new callaway offerings. i hit 10 balls with my m1 and hit them all dreadful apart from 2. it was a massive coincidence that the trackman didn't pick those two shots up. i then hit the callaway...... out of 6 balls i rattled 3 off them that just so happened to be picked up on the trackman. the callaway guy said "you are 21 yards longer with that". when i said i wanted to hit more with my m1 to get a comparable strike he informed me i had ran out of time.

moving on from that was the long drive shootout. one of the guys like me was a belfry member. when he hit his ball the announcer said "well done that's 302 yards" my friend took pleasure in informing him that the bunker that he didn't reach was only 290 away.....

i understand the whole day is a PR event as its called "king of distance" but don't piss on my leg and tell me it's raining"

I agree with that, I too was at the Belfry and the distances they quoted some of the long drive comp people was silly. Still, if you were on the lucky team who got those healthy measurements, there's no complaining!
