Looking for Scottish overnight recommendations

I believe Skibo Castle ticks a few boxes...

I’ve been to gleneagles a few times but never played golf, they do probably have my favourite spa out of everywhere I’ve been. Plan to do all 3 courses but will probably have to do it over a few different visits. Think 18 holes 3 days in a row would kill my boys legs lol I’ll try and definitely get one of the courses done this summer.
I've played the King's and Queens with my son, not the PGA. I'm sure your lad could cope with those two over two days. Wonderful courses, the King's is my favourite place to play golf anywhere 😍. The PGA looks a bit of a slog, apparently is a bit of a slog, and so is best left for another time.

The Queen's is the most junior friendly, it's shorter, but the King's is just wonderful so if you can play one only..........😄

The PGA IS a total slog.
Queens is shorter but not by too much.
Kings is my favourite.

They do look after you there. Free tees, pitch mark repairer, bag tag and yardage book from the starter.

i think you have to be a member of the Carnegie club and last time i heard it was 10K plus per year. i dont know if they open the course in winter.

im surprised they open in winter, i bet its a slog
Before they closed for 3 weeks for Christmas course was in great condition. I couldn't believe how dry everywhere was.
Was really keen to join next year as a second course but fees went up from 2.5k to 5k
Few pictures from middle of December

I struggle to see why people think the PGA is a slog, it's a great golf course and certainly not a slog, I'll play it 3 times a week in the summer.

Has anyone played the trump Ireland course ? I was looking it up seems hard to get too from Scotland. Ferry then 4 hour driver or flight but only from Luton. Looks nice but not sure if it’s worth the travel.

Can you not get flights from Edinburgh?

It’s a huge walk. Played it off the 2nd longest tees with my member pal in 2023. A very long course and a long round.
Some excellent holes on it though.

There isn't a bad hole on the course and it's good for getting your step count up. Really is overshadowed by the other 2 courses but it's a great course and the greens are absolutely superb.
