Seems that Bubba is another who has attracted a load of detractors even though he's just won one of the 4 biggest golf events on the planet. I can understand the grief he got for his European odyssey but he mande four consecutive birdies (13-16) to get into a position to win it and had a great chance on the 18th in regulation.

Suddenly he is some redneck who was lucky to get a swing, potentially cheated by building a stance or moving stuff, mis-hit the 2nd at 10 in the play-off, isn't liked on tour, made a stupid video (for charity) and before long will probably be charged with being cruel to innocent animals. Come on guys give the guy a break. Whatever he does off course and whatever type of guy (I remember Boo getting grief on here for admitting he likes to go hunting) he is off course I'm only interested in watching him and the others play golf

For the record I am not calling him,just asking the question on what looked a tad dodgy to me and others.I like the guy,hits it ridiculous length and brings something different to the game.

Technology will always advance as will younger fitter stronger players its just a fact of life!

Bobby Jones retired from golf in 1930 at the age of 28. He won 13 major championships, he was the first to win the Double, both the U.S. Open and The Open Championship in the same year (1926). In 1930 he won the Grand Slam of the Open, the Amateur Open, the US Open and the US Amateur Open.

So will some young buck beat his record this or next year as they will be so fitter and stronger than he was all those years back and they will have all the modern tech to help them. Or, have there always been great players in this game?

Just catching up after a couple of days away and don't know if anyone has mentioned this but did anyone else thing Bubba had done something illegal in tearing away the pine straw with both his hands and feet before his stunning shot to the 10th green on the play off??

I was as full as an egg while watching it but both myself and my Bro in Law thought it was dodgy.....?

Providing it was loose and not touching the ball then he is free to move it.

We all knew he was a redneck who made a stupid video before he tee'd up at Augusta, so that much isn't news. I couldn't care less if he hunts - many PGA Tour players do.

Lets be honest, though. He is a grown man who called himself Bubba. That is well known as the US equivalent of a chav name for someone of limited intelligence (although there are some other meanings, some of which are even less flattering), so he must expect to be considered as such. If his parents had nicknamed him Einstein instead of Bubba, he would get the piss taken in a different way.

Take a persons previous years driving average, then take that from 600

Lets say a guy averaged 320 yards so that makes 600 -320 = 280

Round the number up to the nearest 20 and that is the maximum club head volume in cubic centimetres you can have

If you only averaged 280 yards you can have 320!

Anyone think that's a decent idea?
