Bogie holes

homer, you're welcome

I think I remember this - isn't the green a little more elevated than it appears here. If I have it right I finished up rolling down the slope to the left of the green toward the path

Thats the one. Plays slightly uphill with the cart path running down the left. Should be such an easy hole! I seem to go into a parallel golfing universe on the tee and seem incapable of making a passing resemblance to a golf swing

We have our own Amen Corner-only 2 holes-the 6th & 7th.
6th Par 3 180 yds-index 10-off the whites generally played into prevailing wind-water along the right hand side, bunker short right, many a medal card ruined on this hole.
7th par 4 401-Index 2-off the whites-OB along the right, lake in front of tee, large trees on the left, narrow view of fairway.

Played it in February - and loved it. The 2 holes you talk about certainley stick in my mind - On the Par 3 I had par - Par 4 - hit water, then drop went into bunker 2 out and 3 putt = fuming Ken and laughing playing partners. If I got it right 9 was a fantastic par 3 also.

Ken-A glad you enjoyed it--next time your down PM me beforehand and we could arrange a game, if it suits.

9th is a fine par 3 as is the 12th & 17th. Naturally water in play in all four holes.

OK....here's an interesting prospect.

Impossible to GIR without a draw off the tee (for mere mortals of course).

Tend to hook a 4 iron, lay-up with an 9 and then go from there!!

As ever (with strokesavers) the map doesn't show the full horror. A straight shot flirting the left trees WILL go in bunker, so it's 200 yarder max. From there, you can't hit another wood other than left of the green, because there are trees 150 from the middle. So for GIR, all you need is a 230-240 draw followed by a 195-200 fade!! Easy....NOT :D
