Looks like Mickleson's blown his tournament. He's 3 over today and 2 behind Stricker with 4 to play.

Is he choking because he knows Tiger's coming back next week? Or is it the start of the inevitable slide down the rankings that comes to them all in the end.

I dont know to be honest but when did he last win he seems to be terrible hes really been poor latley and needs to improve because everyone else on the tour is getting better and he is just getting worse.

He's just birdied 16 to tie Stricker in the lead and hit hte par 5 17th in 2 so he's got to be favourite now to scrape home. At the end of the day its all about finding a way to get it done

I thought it was a brilliant finish. Between Phil chopping for 14 holes, Stricker gassing it comming down the stretch, Choi having a putt to tie with Stricker, Sabattini hitting the worst ever approach shot into the trees at 18, how the hell did he do that??

Big lefties 9 iron at 16 was the stuff of a champion, awesome hit.

You also had Luke Donald playing well again, overall I thought that it was great viewing.

But I think the questions still stand. Mickleson of a few years ago would have eased home by 5 or 6 shots from a field like that. Anyone shooting a 62 and a 63 should wina 4 round tournament but Phil seems to have to dig a little deeper than in the past. He was awful off the tee.

Would Tiger have let him off the hook like the others did? Or Padraig in a Major - it seems to be the only time Padraig can get it together!!

Big up for Luke - 4 very solid rounds again.

If you can win when playing poorly, that's the sign of a quality player. Mickelson is a class act, has been around the top of the rankings for a long long time.

I don't believe pressure had much to do with it, Mickelson has 36 PGA titles and 3 majors so is certainly used to it. Some days Mickelson struggles just with his tee game, that's his achilles heel. It's early season so I expect him to be as steady as ever with 3 or 4 titles this year, can't see him bagging a major though, needs to be driving better.

Big Phil is a top guy,met him at The Open the firm i work for built the hotel he stayed in.

What a gent had time for everyone,in my opinion he is too nice and easy going to rival Tiger,i love watching him play though

Think he put the Diablo driver in play not the greatest advertisment

Either way it made for compelling viewing. Stricker must be kicking himself though.
