Bicycles?

Usually loads of second-hand stuff on Gumtree /eBay if you have an idea of what you want.
This is how I bought my one - that I use for my 1.5 mile commute to/from work.

Also have m/cycle, but push-bike (1-2 yo Ridgeback) provides all I need very economically. Added an AXA 'Dutch Lock' - secure and convenient - making overall cost £180. Could have bargained better or waited for lower priced one, but not particularly talented at either of those qualities!

Thanks for your various input guys.

Right or wrong I decided to go for a hybrid bike and have just ordered the Voodoo Marasa bike from good old Halfords for £320, I hope I did right 🤔

Choice of bike, probably; choice of dealer, probably not. They're not called Helfords for nothing. ;)

The Voodoo bikes are a good purchase, those and Boardman are exclusive to Halfords and are both perfectly decent. Halfords aren't all bad. :)

I've decided that I may buy a bike to try and up my fitness level and my last, not often used, penny farthing has long since gone. So, I probably fancy a fairly cheap road bike to ride round the village etc and only when its dry 😉

Anyone any printable suggestions?
Perhaps a Tricycle or a Tandem , with all the Hells Angel's leather gear to match . Any which way but loose :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Has it got a nice big fat saddle Chris? 😉

I have a (2018?) Ridgeback Speed (flat bar, 15 gears, full length mudguards, panier rack) that fulfils all my cycling needs. Bought through Gumtree. should probably use it to go the 2 miles to work, but motor-bike is even more convenient!

One thing you MUST do after purchase is purchase a proper lock. Axa Defender - with optional chain - is my recommendation. I've had 3 bikes - with other locks - stolen; 2 bikes with Axa combo both been safe!

Bit late ......... I've had a bike for some months now, next stop Tour De France!
I once did a time trial race where some old guy on a tricycle overtook me on every uphill while I got him back in the downhill bits. I was obviously more aerodynamic but he had the much better engine. I think at the end I was a little faster overall, but it didn’t feel good when a guy 30ish years older overtakes you a couple of times in a race.
