Sorry for the brag but I haven't had much to shout about with my game this year. Have had a terrible season as shown by my handicap. A series of 0.1's back and the occasional buffer has seen me hit my max increase for the season.
Was getting ready to resign myself to starting next season with going back up to 18.
Today a society outing at County Sligo GC at Rosses Point. Weather was quiet simply perfect. No real wind to worry about and the sun was shining. We got to play off the whites (6445 Yards) rather than the green society tees (6250 yards). Par 71 SSS 72.
Managed to play relatively steady. A few hiccups and a blank I managed to also have plenty of pars and a birdie.
Returned with 38 points despite a blank on the 14 after a birdie 2 on the 13th. Classic PBFU.
Anyway. Won the society day by 3 clear points and got a nice litre of Bicardi (will try and exchange for whiskey) and a sleeve of balls for my birdie 2.
Most importantly I got my card back so I can return it to my home club and hopefully see a little 0.9 cut. That might leave me at 17 but gives me a nice buffer before I see 18 again. Chuffed to bits because I haven't managed anything of note this year.
Usual day of so many shots left out there but I'll not complain after sinking a 20ft putt on 17th for par.
