Hiya Matt welcome along to the forum , yea someone posted a clip of this the other day .. are ya nuts trying that shot mate ? what were ya thinking when you got to the ball and seen the lie ? the expression on your face is priceless , nearly as priceless as the look after it ..

Good shot by the way

This was actually my second hole and I had birdied the first. I actually picked up the wrong club at the tee and choose a 9 iron instead of the P wedge... don’t know why, just wasn’t thinking I guess. So basically, I over hit the ball 10 yards past the green and thought it was out of bounds. The marshal indicated it was still in play but I couldn’t see it. When I got there I realised I was in trouble and wanted to keep momentum from the first hole / birdie. I looked at the options and there weren’t any. I asked the marshal if I could play off the woodwork and he said “yes” if I wanted to go to hospital, which just made me wanted to play the shot even more.

Brian advised me to play safe but I didn’t like that option obviously... I liked the line of the shot and just fancied it!

! So close as well, makes you think why couldn't there have been just that tiny bit more power behind it!

)

Where do you play?

To be honest i was just glad i didnt clock someone on the 4th tee box mate :D

I play out of Athy in Co Kildare in the good ole Rep Of Ireland mate , Bout 40 mins south of Dublin .. Nice parkland course , fairly dry so we seldom close during the year ..

Awesome shot and thanks for sharing.

I may have taken a similar shot on but with a safe club like a putter just to run it up towards the green. Going with a lofted club was a touch of genius, very well played.

Imagine what that would do to someone in a match.
