Tour Winner
None - The clubs I have now are the best I've ever owned.
I have won 4 prizes (admittedly 3 on one day!) already with them since mid March
I don't think bottles of wine in the raffle can be counted as prizes![]()
Titleist Tour Model Forged back in the day were just lovely but they made golf more difficult than it needed to be.
McGregor DoctorX were as ugly as they were good. I won a lot of matches with these irons.
Best clubs I have ever had though are the ones I have now. Callaway X-16 Pro irons with Tour Stiff shafts. Brilliant irons that have never let me down in the last 10 years. I have tried a few sets in that time, especially recently, with a view to replacing them but none have been as good. Not even close in fact. I can't see me changing them for a long time to come. I have won 4 prizes (admittedly 3 on one day!) already with them since mid March so if it isn't broke, don't fix it.
I'd have to say the Maxfli Revolution Black Dot clubs of 1999/2000 were the best clubs I ever played. Got me well into single figures.... ah these were the days![]()
We have all done it got rid of a set of irons just to have a change(or had a bad round with them) and regret it.For me Ping I3 blades, blue dot,jz stiff shafts....What a set of clubs they were, now gone![]()
They should print this thread on the back of new shineys like the health warnings on cigarettes.
it really doesent make sense does it getting rid of a set of irons thinking a newer set will give better performance,I have actually been watching on ebay a set of Ping I3 blades with the spec I had on mine since I started this thread
