Best course played & why?

Wife comes from Suffolk and I lived there for a year and visited the relations quite a few times, so was lucky to play a lot of their courses and also Norfolk, never heard a bad word about Hunstanton, played a foursomes event with a mate and one of our partners was chap off z1 handicap who played soccer for Scotland, think his name was Ian Robertson, it was a fantastic day, 36 holes in glorious sunshine, never forget it.
Not been here very long have you? I'll leave it there, my thoughts are well known on here, and with anyone who asks, oh and a commitee member there.

Sorry to hear you have had problems there.....I can only say I never had a problem or many of my Sussex friends when they played there.

Hunstanton is a brilliant course and excellent club

Cf just didn’t like the car park

Lucky enough to have played a number of top courses this year. Really enjoyed Blackmoor for the first time at the H4H day, loved both courses at Sunningdale 2 weeks before the Seniors Open. That stretch on the Old from 3-10 is just glorious wherever you look.

But without a shadow of doubt the best course, best experience, best everything that wasn't score(!) is Royal St. George's. Wow. just phenomenal from the moment I got out of my car, never stopped smiling. the course, the clubhouse, the history. Everything was absolutely fantastic. Coming away from Sunningdale I was chuffed to have done it and been. Coming out of RSG I couldn't wait to go back, and I'm already trying to work out when to do so again!

Thanks for the link the old thread - before I joined, hadn't seen it before - very entertaining.
I note the green fee has gone from £90 to £175 in 6 years.
They don't appear to have a seniors open for £35 or less, so I won't ever be going there.
6th October 2026, seniors individual open - £100 I will be able to keep in my pocket. (Seaton Carew seniors individual open £40 in May 2026)
