as per title, whats the best bet you ever made/won?

the amount doesnt matter more the reason and satisfaction it gave.

Mine was a saturday lucky 15, cant remember how much stake etc just remember it was after split with ex and was skint, won 197 quid, got pissed and paid up front for my 1 and only tattoo (when pissed), the LFC Crest which leaves me wide open to abuse at the moment :D

One of the best, although sadly nowhere near the biggest, was £100 singles and a double on two dogs at Portsmouth.

The trainer had put his own money on them, and they came home at about 4/1 and 8/1.

The satisfaction was being able to beat the system with so little work.

Poulter for the WGC matchplay last year, tenner at 29-1 for £290, never used to like him but I don't mind him now!
Got to thank Mark Roe on Sky for that tip.

tough one that like!
I will try to narrow it down to 2 because of the vastly different stakes. As a 10 year old (yes 10!) my 10p treble on Frascati,Into View & High Top paid £6!!!...600-1....OR in my late 20's Desert Orchid to win the Cheltenham Gold Cup (I was there) £100 on at 3's £400 return.

Had £1800 or so on a yankee about 18 months ago.

Best one ever was a heinz I did at epsom years ago, walked out of there with over £4k profit which I spent about £1500 of in a nightclub that night. The rest went on clothes and a 2nd motor whist my project car was in workshop & paint.

3 single numbers in sucsession on a roulette wheel in Vagas.
Wish I'd placed the winnings each time but that would be greedy eh!. Still it paid for a fair few steaks and kept HID happy.

I lived in Jersey for a few years, and there is a light house at Corbiere. When the horse of the same name ran in the Grand National just about everyone on the Island had a bet. The local bookies took one hell of a beating when it won. Also came 3rd following year, so my each way bet came up trumps again.

Was taken to York races a few years back by one of my suppliers, full hospitality jobby, wined and dined and £50 to bet with.

Overheard some guys at the bar and one was claiming to be a friend of an owner in the first race, Our Faith apparently loved the soft ground and it was hammering down! I know zip about horses or betting even, thought what the hell and stuck the £50 on to win, had to do £25 each with 2 different bookies as it was the first race and they all had a limit, only went and romped in at 16-1 :D

Went back to the table after collecting my winnings and there was much whooping and hollering going on, apparently one of the guys had just won £80 - I kept schtum! ;)

Possibly 1965/6. A horse called Arkle.

Recommended by a friend as one of the best ever horses, so put 10 bob on each way.

Probably the only race it didn't perform in but it has probably saved me a fortune since. It was the first, and last, time I've given any money to a bookie.

Thanks Arkle.
