Shorter than 68 yards (off the whites)? I've played that one twice, off the yellows (which is less than 55 yards) and I'm currently 4 over for that hole!
I got stiffed on the last team event I turned up to, got put with a guy who'd only played twice that year and hadn't played more than about half a dozen times before that. The format was stableford pairs but front 9 you added your score together, back 9 you had to multiply them, meaning both have to score to get any return on a hole.
The winners had something like 76 points (and won both the nearest the pins), with both of them scoring more than 45 individually. I scored 19 points on the front 9 by myself. Between us myself and my partner clocked up 23 points overall! He scored 5 points for the whole round! I think we managed 1 team point on the back 9, which actually made me feel a little better as I tailed off a bit on the back 9 but it made no difference as he wasn't scoring anyway.
Nice bloke but I did feel a little shafted. This is the same society that has refused to do a longest drive competition ever since I won one (which was also the first and only time I'd ever won it). I'm not really sure why I keep turning up...
