Wifey got me this Round for 2 voucher, for Bowood in Wiltshire

Looks quite nice on the website,

Has anyone played there,

Played there a few years ago - Parkland course with some good holes and from what I remember it was in reasonable condition. I cannot remember too much about the course as I was just coming out of a spell of the unmentionables thus my mind was focussed elsewhere

Nice course, few trees here and there. Not a short course by any means. Not stayed at the hotel but the club house bar is smart.

A friend of mine, Ross Williams, used to be the Course Manager at Bowood. He turned the course into a quality track.

It has something for every level of player, I think there are 5 or 6 sets of tees, I played it off the back tees once & it was a monster.

Decent greens, interesting layout and good scenery too- I'd be surprised if you didn't enjoy it

Some of the guys on here played there this year. If you search 'Bowood' you can probably find what they thought of it.

only played it once several years ago but from memory a very nice track in a similarly nice setting. Enjoy - but stay away from the back tees!

Some of the guys on here played there this year. If you search 'Bowood' you can probably find what they thought of it.

A few of us played it earlier this year, as Rich said. I liked it, long but fair. Greens and bunkers in excellent nick last May. It felt like a better version of the Celtic Manor Roman Road course if you have played there.

It is a little corporate but not unwelcoming by any stretch of the imagination. I would definitely play there again. Bowood and The Manor House at Castle Coombe are probably the best courses in that area.

As I said then tough course but fun. Lovely setting and good facilities as you'd expect. Good bunkering and water in play on a few holes. All in very good nick. Would happily play there again.

I think you will enjoy it.

Is a lovely course (I'm a member) one of the best things about it is it's set up. You could go a whole round without seeing another golfer, really well placed holes. Greens aren't in there usual stunning form at the moment. Am playing in a comp on the 29th so will give an update on how the course is then !

Thanks Guys, its a voucher for 2 that needs to be redeemed before june, so will have a chat to imurg and look for a date in april or may, looks like its going to be a good venue

Playing Bowood tomorrow (Wednesday) with Imurg, Voucher runs out on 10th June so had to get it in.

Used to be a member there many moons ago. Lovely course and nice clubhouse. Hotel is ace and the pool in the spa is lovely

Live five miles away. Play there a few times a year. Always enjoy it. If you fancy real ale The George opposite the entrance sells 6x etc. but The Rising Sun on Bowden hill a couple of miles away is very good. Have a good time.

Apparently, the best course in Wiltshire, but there's not a great deal of 'opposition' from those I've played.

Played it a couple of times and enjoyed both. First couple of holes seem a bit dull but pretty tough from there on.

Good mix of holes. Great warm-up/short game facilities. Lovely relaxing place to play.

looks like there is a 3 hole practice ground, which is a nice feature, hopefully we will get there in time to make use of it
