Away card registration

With the best will in the world if a Handicap Chair has informed all the members in an email a year ago about the club’s pre registration process for foreign scores, how many members will remember what was written and the protocol is.
Isn’t it slightly incumbent on the member who is going away on a trip ( hardly a last minute decision) to check with the Handicap Committee as to how to put their scores in?
How often do you need to bore all the members, the vast majority of whom are never going to submit an overseas scores, with this information.
There aren't many clubs that don't have a members website (or members area of a public website) where documents can be published so they are available for members to download at any time and wherever they are.

Agreed and if the club hasn’t done so then fine it’s not great but typically the blame goes to the poor people (unpaid volunteers) doing their best and then being castigated for bombarding members with unwanted information or making such info too difficult to access.
If I was going abroad and knew I wanted to input scores and didn’t know how to do it I would check my club’s website and if the info wasn’t there, I’d drop them an email or ring them to check the procedure. I would expect do this before I went not on the first tee or after the round..
It’s not that difficult.
