I don't know

but

I hope not

because

great and wonderful things may yet happen
The whole point of my post about it not being important what is behind....What are you going to do now?

Also....if quoting music people.....Bruce Springsteen's Glory Days song.....Things might have been good in younger days, but does that really matter...it's gone?

A lot of years behind me, definitely into the back 9 but..
I'm in a position where I can do more or less what I want when I want and if I dont want to do something then, more or less, i dont have to.
So in that respect...I'm living my best life!

Sounds like you played the front nine with Dunlops and the back nine with Pings 👍

Unquestionably. In the last 2 years I've had 5 operations (2 knee replacements and 3 spinal ops). Next week I'm seeing a consultant at a 'degenerative clinic', the hospital's less than encouraging name for it on the appointment letter.

I'm not surrendering by any means, I spent last week in Italy and have started trying to play golf again in a buggy (off the reds, can just about break 100!). But no question, at 67 and in fairly constant discomfort, my best days are gone.

Statistically speaking, yes they are. I'm 63 next month.
I'm extremely fortunate in that I have no health issues but how long that will last is in the lap of the God's.
I'm still working, it's shift work but 35hrs over 4days and with my leave I work 169 days a year, so less than 6 months a year. no stress,no overbearing management, no Zoom meetings or emails to send, so all good, really. But the day will come when I'll wake up and hand my notice in, when the earlies become too much.
I've no money issues whatsoever, so I'm very lucky.
The only thing is I'm running out of days,so my intention is to as much as possible enjoy myself with my best beloved for as much as I'm able for as long as I'm able.
I wish I'd had some of what I've got now when I was younger struggling with a mortgage, 2 kids in a low paid job working 60hrs a week. But I wouldn't appreciate what I've got now if I hadn't been through that I guess.
I won't be able to do everything I wanted to do when I was younger but we'll give it a go.

Physically, at 64 my best days are long gone, although I'm in better nick than most of my contemporaries.

Mentally (or maybe in terms of happiness), my best days are now. It's 10 years this week since I retired, life is as good as it's ever been - got a good lifestyle, no money worries, married to a lovely woman, kids are doing great, stress levels are at an all time low. Happy days indeed.
