At the club, got talking to one of our ladies team members. She was complaining about the lack of men who sign up to participate in the mixed greensomes. They have some superb away games coming up over weekend and they cant find men to sign up. She could not think (or did not want to volunteer) a reason.

Do the menfolk here play the mixed games? If not, then why?

Our old club struggled but the new one seems to have plenty of men man enough to play with us ladies :-)

Played a greensomes match yesterday at Girton for the club. I was driving great and John's irons way more accurate than mine so we made a deadly team and won easily - as did the rest of the team

Always really enjoy mixed matches and competitions but then David plays golf and much of the team yesterday consisted of couples (though not playing together)!

We play mixed greensomes once a month and I love it. It's great fun and I have played in a couple of matches but they are normally on days I work so I don't get to play in them often.

Our mixed comps\matches are always fully subscribed, not by me as I can only just tolerate playing the men's pairs events I play in. I'd rather just play singles if I'm honest.

Have to be honest and say the idea of mixed gruesomes isn't high on my list of priorities. I just don't enjoy the format and won't even play the normal version. We don't have many mixed matches and they do tend to be husband and wife affairs. I don't mind playing a game with the lady members and do partake in the mixed social games

a mixed 4BBB I'd prefer, not a fan of greensomes with anyone:smirk:

I used to play a lot with the ladies/girls when I was younger, they were good company and had excellent short games

Dislike pair comps intensely, I do not know any female members well enough to even consider it.
Mixed or mens, fine for those that want to play in them but I do not like potential handicap qualifying weekend games being taken up by 4bbb etc. By all means do it during the week when most of the participants would be free anyway (mostly retired members)
I cant think of any male under 40 golfers at our place that plays in the mixies.

i was going to this year, but the days clashed. but i will play with the female assoiciate members next seaon. i do like to mix it up a bit. fed up playing with men week in week out

We have a mixed match against Mitcham this coming Saturday. I'm playing. Played the home match last year and it was fun. It's a round of golf guys! Plus, the after match food isnt a stuffy suit affair, it's casual, so I can happily don my shorts and flip flops and not give a stuff about anyone complaining that I'm not wearing a suit etc...

If only more matches were like this...

Can I play of the red tees then?...........

Just stuck my name down for mixed foursomes matchplay. I look at it as a way to play a nice sociable round of golf with folk I wouldn't normally play with.

Just played in our open mixed 4somes with a guy who hadn't played mixed before. We had a good laugh, I only had to hit one reload off the whites and we just missed out on the scratch prizes on countback.

Looks like we might team up again.....
