I was yesterday. Better than i have been playing for months. Lessons paying off big time. Could easily have been more.;)

It's always my first aim.
You're not going to play to handicap every time you go out so 30 points shows you've not played too badly.

Generally regard 30 as respectable but whether I am happy depends on how I get them.

Playing good golf in difficult conditions = happy
3 putting the last 4 greens = unhappy

No. My aim is to beat my handicap... rare. If that's not happening, I want the buffer zone. Anything below that is a failure - I fail a lot. A score in the 20's sees the wife take my laces and belt off me.

Whilst im not happy with 30 I can sleep after shooting that. Anything less and I get a bit narky :D

Like Hobbit I want to play to handicap as often as possible, however 30 points it is likely there will be a good few positives to take from the round.

Scored 31 yesterday in awful rain so quite happy with that, I have never been outside in rain like it before at one point it was just like standing in the shower with a golf club in my hand.

30 points at my place usually sees me hit buffer or miss it by one shot so generally I am happy with that. It's normally good golf with three disasters to get that score.

In general...

30-33 I've played OK
34-36 I've played well
36+ I've played very well

Same as this.

The frustrating thing for me is like on Saturday, 31 points, 4 doubles and 3 blobs, cut those out and I'll drop like a stone.

After my performance in qualifying competitions over the last 2 years, I am always happy with 30 points.

My highest score this year is 33 points and that just missed the buffer zone, so another +0.1 back

Really tough at the moment following health problems and change to a different club in 2012. Could be a while before handicap finds it's new level. I am working hard on my short game at the moment, which is starting to pay dividends. Just need to keep the 1 or 2 silly scores which appear in every round.

I have hit 30 points twice this weekend, and walked of the course very happy, but a little frustrated I am going through a swing change, so I was happy to scored OK, but 30 points also means you have left plenty of scores out there.

Playing to my handicap and scoring 36 points is a wish target and not an expectation - simply because the way handicaps are set reflects my stretch ability in a comp. So playing to my ability I do not expect 36pts. Playing average I would expect 30-32 pts - 32 pts if luck goes my way - 30 if it doesn't. Playing some good stuff with the breaks - 34pts. Playing well 36pts, playing well with the breaks 38. Everything going right 40+
