Yes, not aware
Why mini driver, why not a full size 460cc head?
16 degrees is already 3 wood. My 3W is 15 deg and I used to have a RBZ tour 3w with 14 deg!
Yes, not aware of any 16deg 460cc though. But it is the idea. Effectively a 460cc 3 wood, and a 460cc 5 wood, would be the ideal of the theory. Shafts, the length of a 3w, 5w.

TaylorMade definitely went through a phase of very high lofted drivers, up to 16° I believe. Depends whether you can still find one though of course.

A very young Rick Shiels had one here...

Never done 3 drivers, but I've taken both these 2 out in social games and one betterball comp.
9 degree stiff and 10.5 degree regular.

When playing vintage golf, I have several 2-woods as part of the set.
Gradidge Bobby Locke
Lillywhite Frowd
Slazenger Bobby Locke ADL
Slazenger Ambassador
HB&S Max Faulkner Avenger
Greentree Accurist Lee Trevino

When mixing and matching, I will sometimes leave out the 3-wood to give a choice of 1 or 2 from the tee and 4 or 5 from the fairway.
A good lie on a gentle upslope and a 2-wood from the fairway might be a choice.

When did a selection of clubs in a bag become “a rig”?
A TM3 wood High launch 16 degree has a fairly large head
Day before yesterday.
These trends have to start somewhere, sometime by someone.
No restriction, as far as I know, on who is allowed or not allowed to start a trend.
Some catch on, some don't.

I'd like to meet the person who first described hitting a golf ball off the ground or from the fairway as hitting it off the "deck".
I've never embraced that trend. "Ground" or "fairway" seem like perfectly good words to me.

Those "loft up" drivers were bombers but had an incredibly small sweetspot.

Still bagging a 10.5 SLDR. And have read they were a Taylormade screwup that they tried to cover up with the loft-up story. But hit it well. Doubt a 16deg would have that reputed issue. So its an option, ta.
