Anyone Stand Any Chance of Playing Over Christmas?

No snow here but plenty of frost closing the courses. hopeful weather will get milder over the next few days and we may get out to play on sunday.

We have about 8 inches of snow, so not much hope, as even if it thaws the course will be waterlogged and still closed.

In theory playing on the 2nd and 3rd, swindle lunch and england v the rest. England match always gets cancelled due to weather. Don't remember the last time it was completed.

I don't want to play much at the moment anyway. My book on S&T has arrived. I have started reading it, and had one promising session down the range. I really want a month or so to practice it before going live on the course. I think it could be very good for me. All I need is a range (or the practice ground) to be open. Fat chance of that at the moment. 5 iron and down, S&T is getting very good results. I haven't tried the driver yet, but can see this may be where the problems lie. 5w was ok, but no draw, which is half the point.

I've just been over to the golf club to pass on the seasons greetings to our two golf pro's and the course is a complete blanket of white, I will be able to play if it thaws because the course is built on sandy soil and drains very quickly, let's wait in hope.

Has been snowing again for 2 hours this morning in Cheshire. We were due to be playing Heyrose today (9 mates in our Xmas Roll-up) - Norfolk 'n Chance.

Have the course and tee time booked for Tuesday but it's in the lap of the gods.
There are going to be some miserable households this year and a lot of cries of ' For chrisake get yerself out'
