Challenge game with The Pro today and inter-club mixed match tomorrow, so just had a real good clean out of trolley bag and scrubbed up the old rub-a-dub-dubs.

Scabby old balls now in shag bag and all-new gleamers in ball pouch so season's in swing at last.

But in cleaning the clubs I noticed the marks as per the photo (and before anyone starts - not the white lines. I knew they were there already OK?:D.

It's the off colour 'blooms' I'm on about.

What causes these and can they be removed? And if so by what?

Over to the collective...image.jpg

You could try hitting the ball with the middle of the club.....that'll get rid of them....

Must've happened when my son borrowed them. Yes that'll be it alright

Buy new clubs?

Do you mind! They're only six months old!!

Odd they are as they're more noticeable from certain angles and suggest they're marks on the steel - so as rickg suggests they may have been caused by off-centre hits by that son of mine :D Wait til I get hold of him!!

You live near Homer don't you?

Pop round to his house and ask if his Missus will run the polishing rag over them for you.. She loves a bit of club cleaning does Marge... :D

I know I made my comment in jest but clubs are just tools to get the job done, do a few marks really matter in the grand scheme of things?

Of course not!

Just when I'm scrubbing I can never shift them and wondered what causes them. Probably is mis-hits now rickg's brought it up.

You ought to see the state they're normally in. I'd almost forgotten the white lines were actually there...😄

Could be caused in the bag as irons will find a common rub point against the next club as look like steel / steel rubbing rather than ball strike.
