Following the wet weather this week and the horrendous forecast for the weekend, my club has taken the decision to postpone tomorrow's comp, anticipating a number of no shows and late withdrawals.

I can't say I blame the club, certainly the last comp we played must have lost almost a third of the entry due to the weather, but it's so frustrating at present, seems that we play a week and then lose 3 to the weather at present

Is anyone else similarly affected or are you all doing better with the weather?

We're doing ok weather wise apart from the winds. Shame I've been tied up last weekend and this. Not seen the course for nearly a month. Not seen the range for three weeks. Back to it on Monday.

I've made it to the range in between, but work and other commitments have meant it's been weekends only, rather than a midweek one too. Hoping that changes after next week, I could do with the extra practice especially if we continue to lose comps at the rate we have over the last six weeks or so.

Luckily I am away tonight and tomorrow so will not be getting wet on the course again. We have a WInter lague away match on Sunday though and that has already been postponed once due to the weather so that must be in doubt again.

Looks like the whole of the south of England going to be covered in rain tomorrow

Is your course still open tomorrow? If it is get the waterproofs on and get playing. It's only water.

I've tried to do the 'right thing' for my last 2 winter league matches and played on when everyone else has been walking off in deference to partner / other pair. Have ended up wet, miserable and ill for most of the next week after being drowned. So wet and cold impossible to hold clubs, with decent weather protection!!

So this weekend, have ditched being honourable but miserable for practical and dry. Took a lot of soul-searching as my partner still keen despite the ridiculous radar pictures.

I try to be pretty old school with regards to competition day commitments but enough is enough.

It's the mud I'm more worried about! Seems to get everywhere and hitting good clean shots from wet muddy grass is not easy! :(
It happens every year, it's better than not playing at all, man up ;)
