Another weekend, another rain-off

I played last Sunday down in East Lothian, even though it was a 200 mile round trip because the Forth Road Bridge is closed, but this weekend the guys from Edinburgh are coming up to St. Andrews so they will have the extra miles. I'm also playing Rosemount tomorrow. Forecast is for 2 degrees tomorrow falling to minus 2 overnight, so it might be a frost delay at St. Andrews.

Played the last few weekends, wet and windy but still better than sitting indoors.

Weather for today is 15-20 mph winds and light rain at times, teeing off at 10 and looking forward to it.

Our gents Christmas comp today - so definitely going to get wet on the inside. Forecast not great so might get a bit wet on the outside too.

Sympathy to those of you who've been copping the full brunt of it recently.

Forecast of 40mm of rain today on top of the rain we've already had since last weekend. Dry at the moment though so planning to get out there.

Just received a text from my Pro saying our Texas Scramble has been postponed, the course is open, currently, but can see it being closed a little later as its constantly raining on already saturated ground!

I'm all dressed up and nowhere to go, got all my prezzies yesterday so I think I'll hit the practice area for a little bit of "rain practice", think it might come in handy rain.gif

We were supposed to have a Texas scramble on today but that was cancelled yesterday due to course conditions and forecast. Don't think I'm even going to bother going up for the fiddle if it's on instead as will be a mud bath. Only going to be the 4th weekend without a game all year, all the rest due to holidays rather than choice/weather.

I'd be very disappointed if my club cancelled a comp on that basis. What about the 60% of the field that want to play? It's a poor decision by the club IMHO, particularly as the weather is often not as bad as forecast.

P.S. We're incredibly lucky at Blackpool as it drains so well and the course is in great condition.

On Holiday Mike.......?

Cold and very wet. not happening. It stayed dry till very late last night but it is so dark now and no chance of it stopping. forget it.

We managed to get 18 holes in this morning - 6 of us , a little bit of drizzle at times but not too bad - and certainly not as bad as forecast
