Last qualifying comp of the year at our place yesterday and also my last comp before I move to my new club at the end of January. Wanted to go to my new club with the added (limited) kudos of playing off 3 h'cap.

Started the day on 3.6 and with it being off the yellows, the standard scratch would pretty certainly go down to 1 under 69. Beautiful autumnal day but with a pretty fresh wind that was blowing straight into on the tougher back 9.

Anyhow, not going to bore you with every shot but 72 shots later ( two halves of +1) and I reckon I'm going to come up 1 shot light. So the winter and the start to next year in limbo @ 3.5 I reckon.

The good thing is I'll benefit from the extra shot during a cheeky 7 day pro am in Cyprus in February next year. Talking of which........has anybody been to Northern Cyprus for golf??? The place is called The Korineum GC?? Anyone played there or heard reports about it???

Im the same in a way, have decided after this weekend not to enter any more comps until
next season.
I know its the same for everyone at our club,im leaving in Jan too, joining Taunton and Pickeridge,
but the trees and leaves are driving me mad.
Also the course has had its day this year, and with less and less in our weekly comps ive had enough.

One more comp left for me. November 5th, last medal of the year, and probably the last comp til end of March. Last chance to get that elusive 0.1 back, and get up to 10 for the winter.

weather looks quite summery in England, you guys could be playing in short sleeves again this weekend.

That wind did me a little favour on Saturday - standard scratch went up to level par 70.

New handicap of 3.4........goal for the season (back playing off of 3) - TICK.

Now for my entry to cheap old farts' scratch golf @ Sunningdale New, St Georges Hill, Hankley Common & Saunton.............get in!!
