Another one for the 20+ year players

30 years ago I remember opening a brand-new slazenger 65 from its individual wrapper on the first tee. I smacked it once (thinned) into a massive bramble bush in front of the tee. I wonder if it is still in there?

Wow, there is a memory! Now such packaging would surely today allow someone like Titleist to breach the £5/ball barrier. Losing one of the 65s you'd unwrapped was way, way more dispiriting than losing a Pro V1 today.

It was a odd/good feeling to unwrap a brand new ball on the first tee , then hit and hope you don't have to unwrap again.

Good advert in the making, kids [golfers ] just love unwrapping things and the more expensive the better.
We golfers are easy targets.

wasn't it a Dunlop 65 ? I used those quite a lot as well as the Penfold Ace. James Bond used one in Gold Finger.

Whichever it was (and I'm with richart), it was almost certainly made by er... (what is now) Srixon! :whoo:
