Being a bank holiday I found myself inevitibly playing around with golf clubs.
In particular, drivers. Namely the JPX850.
Currently have the EZ driver and it goes well. Long story short, the JPX850 went almost identicle to the EZ. Distance, spin and dispersion all within a few yards.
So, the 850 brings me absolutely nothing to the table but daaamnnn is it good looking.
So do I incur the wrath of the financial controller (considering I judt bought hybrids and wedges for a not so small £400 the last few days) and blow £300 on a driver just because its damn purdy?

It would go so well with your irons. . . . . . . .

Greig, what about just giving your current driver a bit of a paint job like you did with my old 3 wood?

Yeah it was bling thay he used. Decent job. I think though if I was going to go to a blue driver then might as well go all out. The matte finish on the EZ isnt bad looking to want to change it unless I was getting the rest of the gimmicks that I won't use anyway ;)

Why spend that much money on a driver that won't give you any improvement

Have you tried any of the other drivers on the market or will it only be mizuno

Better drivers out there than the mizuno in my view. Tried it out last week with a variety of shafts and could not match my 913 numbers wise and it had a horrible feel to it.

Nothing against mizuno as I have MP 53 irons in my bag but its not a great driver.

Did you try getting fitted for the Mizuno jpx or just have a bash against your current?

Just comparison against my own using stock shafts as thats all they had.
The Aldila could possibly make a difference.

I have tried 913 and 915s and actually hated the 913, I just dont get the Titleist hype, I really dont.
I also tries the Aeroburner and didnt like the looks.

Why spend so much on a driver? Why do we spend so much on any golf gear?
