Forgive me being a bit non techie, on an Android phone there is Google search facility permanently fixed on the front screen, well there is on mine Moto G4. How, if at all, can I change this to Firefox, or any other browser?

Download the Firefox app then check if there is a widget that you can drag and drop on your front screen.

Hold down on the screen, click on the option for widgets and see if there is one for firefox in there. If there is, drag and drop onto the screen you want it on.

Can't see it. If I drag it it goes to remove.
Your are doing this to the app rather than the widget.
To get to the widget

  • On a Home screen, touch and hold an empty space.
  • Tap Widgets .
  • Touch and hold a widget. You'll get images of your Home screens.
  • Slide the widget to where you want it. Lift your finger.
You'll find the Firefox widget which you can the put it on your home screen.

Okay. THat all good, but how do I remove the piggin google one that's glued to the screen at the mo

As it is an android phone there is a whole load of stuff that cannot be removed it's embedded in the operating system.
Particularly anything owned by google.

It amuses me that someone who is 'non-techie' has decided to use an alternative to the 'standard' Browser! :ROFLMAO:

When I said non techie, it was more a nod towards, this has got me beat and I don't know how. Looks as though I'm gonna have to put up with it. The wife can remove it on hers just Motorola seem to have this embeded. Oh well.

I have a Motorola G7 Power and can remove the widget no problem. I simply hold down the widget, you'll see "X Remove" at the top of your screen and you just drag it to that.
