My mum and stepdad have bought a new laptop. It will only be getting very occasional use which means it's not really worth them paying for Microsoft Office. They'll only be using it for very basic stuff like writing letters and maybe the odd spreadsheet. Does anyone have any suggestions for alternatives, mainly for Word and Excel, that I can suggest to them. It needs to be something that they can install on the laptop rather than Cloud based and the simpler it is to install the better. Cheers.

Star Office. From memory it is a free download,at least it was. Cant vouch for it,been a few years since I had it.
