Just wondering what's your quickest round of 18 holes on a full corse been, must be more than a one ball to count tho...

I played between Christmas and new year, joined up with an older gent on the first tee.

Teed off at 9.30....and we were shaking hands on the 18th green at a little past 11.30!

Played matchplay with a mate on weds. Not many gimmees though, as we're miserable sods. No ball searching, no more than a brisk walk between shots. 2 hours 45. Happy with that. Never really think of either of us as quick, we're just reasonably efficient.

2hrs 45. An absolute pleasure of a round with no one else on the course. As others have stated, no running required, nor did we aim to play quickly. We played our round and saw the time at the end when I turned my Garmin back to a normal watch.

Some of the times will be dependent on length of course but I believe 3hrs is possible on pretty much every course if you are in a two ball with a clear run.

We have regularly been playing Saturday morning four ball sweep games in around 3 hours 15 minutes through this winter. Obviously some gimmes but not too many.
Quite surprised how quick we get round as this is my first year at the club and always have taken longer at other clubs.

2hrs 40min for two of us. All fairways hit so no searching for balls. Like others have said, we weren't in a rush either.

First game out in a competition at St Andrews, singles matchplay and we were round 18 holes in 2hr20 before going down the 19th.

Was in the first pair out in the second round of the club champs, 12 pairs - yes, I was last in the field of those that qualified for the second round. Flew round in 2hrs 20mins, and finished 3rd.

Regularly get round my home track in a comp in 3 hours, as a 3 ball.
My quickest would be Ross shire county champs, which is 36 holes with a break between for lunch. First round was 3 hours, we were first out with a 1 handicap and myself. Second was 2.15, we were back while most of the field was still going out for its 2nd round.

Fastest I've ever done is 9 holes in 1 hour - me and my friend were doing the Longest day challenge and we had to get finished by a certain time. So we raced around the front nine haha - then we got held up!
interesting the 3rd round we did was my best score - tired and swing got slower - less chance to go wrong!

Fastest 4 ball round was about 3hrs - mid week medal and light fading! haha

2hr15 by myself 2hr45 in a two ball

Slowest was 6 hours in a comp at a different course that I was thinking of joining - speaking to my PP's that day they said all comp rounds took forever so I didn't make the switch - I like my early tee times and to be in the bar by lunchtime

My home track is rather long - but have done it in a 3 ball in 3 hrs. They are a pretty friendly bunch at our club normally let people play through.

i heard at Royal Birkdale car park a young lad I was playing with say to a member
'Hi Roger, how did you get on out there'
'Bloody marvellous Paul, I went round in 2hr 35min'

you had to pick me off the floor from laughing so hard...........

I see Jason Day is reported to have declared he'll take as long as he likes and the slow play issue isn't relevant for the Professionals because of what's at stake.

Can't see what's wrong with that. Any amateur who bases their speed on the course on the Pro's game has a bigger issue than pace of play. They need to concentrate on walking and breathing at the same time.

As a two ball we would regularly beat two hours, and that would include playing through.

I have never seen any reason why golf should take more than 3 1/2 hours. It just shoudn't.

2 Hours 17 was the quickest Ive ever played with a pal of mine.

Summers morning, tee'd off just before 5! Finished just after 7.

Sublime
