A new low

Couldn't be bothered to walk back, as I'd probably end up 4 over minimum after 3, and that's hard to come back from.

Some of my best rounds have come from being 4 over after 3 :p

Seriously, I can't believe you NR'd just because of that. I won't say that I'm 'shocked', but it's a pretty poor show.

I think you were just scared that you might go on to make 4 birdies and end up level par.... you're just protecting your h/cap :p

I know Hawkeye wasn't a happy camper when I saw him in the locker room. I thought the greens putted quite well given the rain this week but there again I could say it was the pro-core inside my putter. If I was him I'd at least look at getting one in an old one but if not, a mirror to check alignment and practice. I am waiting for it to come good when we play the winter knockout. I am sure he is going to go really low soon and just needs to keep the faith. Trust and confidence is everything on the greens

I guess I'm just lazy. I never walk back. Can't be bothered!

I agree it's in the head, it is difficult to get out though :D

I'm in the same boat Mike..
But I know that, on the whole, I've not been putting badly - they just haven't been dropping.
Shaving the cup, lip-outs, stopping on the edge - I've had them all this past month or so but I'm still around 30 putts a round. Our greens are not helping - how are yours?

How often does every facet of your game work at the same time?
It sounds like everythings working except the putter. Next month the irons might go off but the putting comes back, then the driving goes on holiday - eventually it'sll all come together again and the good scores will return.

Up until today I was putting well but nothing was dropping, today was a shocker but the more I think about it I realise I was thinking about it :D

Normally I putt without a care as to whether they drop and if I find myself thinking about missing I step away. Today the last few weeks got to me and I realise now that I was putting thinking negative thoughts and trying to force the ball in the hole which is not a good place to be. You don't become a bad putter overnight so I'm just going to forget it. I'm on the verge of a really low round, just have to keep believing.

Not backed up by the evidence at Brampton today, I witnessed quite a few good length putts drop safely to the bottom of the hole...

You didn't see me putt on Thursday.........!!!!!

I'll admit I had a decent day on the greens - shows I can putt
Just wish it would be like that a bit more often!

Last medal I had 43 putts (or 45 ... ) I horse shoed 5 holes in a row. My FC were horrified as I went on to card a 90. I wasn't too bothered, I figured I was just off a little bit. Went home and looked at what I was doing and realised I was inadvertently shutting the face with my right hand to aim. So I just line the putter up and then take my grip, and this seems to have cured the problem.

All is well with the world again. Played this morning with the sole intention of going back to putting without caring. Still only 1 birdie from 8 chances but no missed sitters, 77 blows, a wedge load of cash for winning the swindle
