90% versus 3/4

Yep they said that the change to 90% wouldn't have made a difference between the results - how do you they know that ?

Who were these 160 clubs and did the club provide the exact scores from every single round in matchplay or did they just use team 4BBB comps and not matchplay

And the last sentence of "encouraging the mid to high HC to enter" - in our club all HC entered the comp before the change - now I believe the low HC are avoiding the matchplay comps - so ultimately the change in HC allowance at our club will actually have the opposite affect that they were attempting - less participation.

You question the results from an analysis of 160 club's BB competition yet can only give anecdotal evidence to counteract their research. Alternative facts😊

i think in future they would be better running any rule or handicap changes past him, just to be on the safe side:rofl:

Blimey it's not like Patrick to make a snidey comment - he doesn't normally have the time because of all that golf in the sunshine with short and shortsleeve top ( whilst the whole country is either raining or minus 1 - can smell it from here )

Anyway let's have a look at some more alternative facts

I believe there is over 3000 golf clubs in the U.K. ?

So 160 out of 3000 is about 5% ? So that's a very small percentage of clubs they asked

So does 5% enable a governing body to paint a true picture ? Even more so when it's a bit woolly exactly how deep into those results to they looked at.

These questions have been put to Congu already - with the response being they will look at next year but they said they don't have the resources to gain more data and results from the club but we all know that it will go to 100% next and from the expireince I'm seeing within my club and the general response to it - that would kill our 4BBB Comp off. So before that I expect we will make our own change
