2025 Formula 1 season

Just watched the last few Chinese laps .. the sky commentary team has less energy than a 3 wheeled Alpine in a pit lane. What a let down

Twas a pretty boring race. I got up at 7am and had already dozed off at various points. The end was only milldy exciting due to the brake issue with Lando!

Not sure Tsunoda will have much fun trying to drive the Red Bull either. According to Max, the Red Bull 2025 car is a dog, and with the midfield cars being so much closer to the cars at the front, there isn't that big a margin between qualifying in 8th and elimination in Q1.

Be hilarious if Lawson out qualifies Tsunoda
If the Red Bull is as bad as Max says, that's a distinct possibility.

I don't believe Lawson is as hopeless as he appears. Last year he performed reasonably well in the VCARB. He beat Tsunoda in 2 out of 6 races (and beat Perez in 4).
Red Bull ditching him after just 2 races shows that their ruthless streak has become pretty vindictive. They haven't given him a fair chance to get up to speed.

What is a bit strange is why Red Bull gave the drive to Lawson instead of Tsunoda in the first place. Maybe they've realised that was an error and have decided to fix it asap.

The timing may have more to do with where the next GP is going to be and the nationality of the drivers involved? Or maybe I am being too cynical?

Red Bull are way too hard-nosed to consider that all by themselves.
But if Honda have leaned on them...

Think the novelty of Drive to Survive is wearing off. Not sure it is ramping up in the fakeness.

Feels like every scene, outside of the racing car, is a complete set up. Scenes where team bosses have private conversations with people, or scenes where they discuss their thoughts with their wives at home while they listen on with great enthusiasm.

Sure, let's bring in the Netflix camera's for this private moment. Or when Sainz had to select his team for 2025, and they filmed it as if 3 team bosses where sitting in different rooms waiting, not knowing whose room Sainz would pick.

Yeah I stopped watching it a season ago. It's like any of these shows, the first couple are great as those in it don't get it but give it a few seasons and everyone knows how it works and uses it.

I wonder what will happen if in 5 or 6 races Tsunoda is doing poorly and Lawson flying. Tsunoda at a dead end really. ALso why did Tsunoda not get the drive from the start, must have been a reason not to give it to Tsunoda.

Was a curious choice and then flip flop. TBF the 2nd RBR seat has been a bit of a poisoned chalice for quite some time.
100% Lawson will be better than Yuki , it's the law😅

Am I right in assuming that the cars are still designed around the teams fastest driver? Could explain why Lawson is struggling so much
I’m sure I read or saw a video which said that the red bull is built to suit verstappens driving preference/style. The problem is that his driving style is different from everyone else who’s had a go in the other seat

I’m sure Russell had a similar problem when he stepped in while Lewis had covid. They’ll always design the car to suit #1. Be interesting to know if they’ve tweaked the Ferrari

That's a Very simplistic viewpoint, as the season progresses they will tweak the set up to favour the better driver , but there's a lot more to designing an F1 car than who's going to be driving it.
