I’m sure Russell had a similar problem when he stepped in while Lewis had covid. They’ll always design the car to suit #1. Be interesting to know if they’ve tweaked the Ferrari
Huh? That race Russell was cruising to an easy win until Merc screwed up his pit stop and then he got a puncture.

Was that when they messed up botas as well ? Mix of tyres possibly.

Yes, they put Bottas' front tyres on Russell's car, so had to pit him again to put the correct tyres on. Even after that cock up Russell was catching the leaders and would probably have won, but got a puncture.

PS. I'm not actually a fan of Russell. He strikes me as a little big smug. But no denying he has talent.

Ferrari levels of pit stop incompetence 🤣

It was, I’m sure Russell said he was too tall and was getting a lot of force to his head from wind as it was set for little Lew. Also the pedal box being very close together.

I definitely recall an interview with them comments and I’m sure it was from Russell. I also recall something from the RB camp when there was a driver swap between the teams a few years back.

It's no secret the RB is built around Max's preference for a heavy oversteering car with sharp turning, that as he progresses through the season he wants it sharper and sharper making it harder and harder for the second driver to do well with this. Apprently most drivers do not prefer too much oversteering and sharp turning in. There is no issue with this for Max to be world champion, the issue arises with the constructors championship when you need both drivers to win it.

Nothing complicated about it or secret so let's not pretend there is.

Id say look up the difference between car design and car set up 🧐😅
They are not mutually exclusive, they co exist and have a definite effect on each, you cannot have a car designed around oversteeer and then set it up to understeer. Well you can but that brings it's own problems. Maybe you should look up understanding car design and set up in conjunction with driving it as well as possible.

Rbr have said this morning they will look to set the car up differently for Yuki.

Granted it was a very disrupted session, but let’s not let that spoil the jokes…..We’re the Racing Bulls and Red Bull drivers in the correct cars today? Both RB’s ahead of the Red Bulls

Max the class of the field once again, nicking pole from the 2 McLarens. The only lap he's been faster all weekend so far is the only one that counts.

Should be an interesting race as the McLarens still look like they have the fastest race car but Max is not an easy guy to pass.

And the possibility of some rain...

Tomorrow will be the first of many Max meltdowns. The forecast is some extremely dangerous driving and a lot of sour grapes.

I'd say it could officially be the most boring race of all time.

Were there any overtakes at all? Maybe in the 1st lap or 2, but way down the field.

Think the most exciting incident was Norris and Verstappen leaving pits side by side

The Formula 1 YouTube channel has a race highlights video. It's over 8 minutes long. How the hell did they find enough material for that?
