Apparently each driver has to have 2 pit stops, anyone know the reason for this?
Sort of takes strategy out of the equation….
Last year, there was a red flag on first lap, so all cars came in, did their pit, then didn't need to stop again.

It was a strategy to try and stop that happening again, as they know you can't overtake. Try to force an element of strategy to get "excited" about

Watched the C4 run of it last night, my god they are have really ruined F1 more than I thought possible.
The track should be removed from the calender for a start, The business of 2 mandatory pit stops has to be rmeoved, plus they also need to put a mandatory minimum speed delta in so there can be no deliberately holding the field up for what it an already hard to overtake race.
I thought Hungary was bad years ago when Ferrari couldnt go rround a corner, but spring away down the staright, but that was worse yesterday.
It certainly doesn't bring new viewers and interest to the sport.

It is one the races that I know well before hand I am going to watch off it being recorded.
Watch the first few laps. After that repeated fast forwards watch any incident then watch the last few laps.

The virtual impossibility to overtake was well demonstrated by Mansell trying to get past Senna and Senna trying to get past Frost both incidents were showing that despite trying virtually every manoeuvre in the book they could not get through.

One of the most dangerous jobs in sport must be that of a pit crew member at Indy500.

Absolute chaos.

The Schwarzman one was really scary as he locked up coming into his pit and just wiped out the rear left changer. It's when you go back and watch some of the old races where there was no pit speed limit.
It was a tremendous race - the two cars in front of the leaders did spoil a little as it took away some of the tactics on the fuel save in the last 20 laps but they had a right to be there and Palou played it superbly. He is truly a special driver at all circuits now he has won on an oval.

What on earth do Red Bull do to their second car? Their No. 2 drivers surely can't be that consistently awful
Two possibilities:

1. Max isn't actually a human being and somehow manages to extract silly levels of performance from a dog of a car.
2. The team focuses all of its efforts on Max so his side of the garage gets everything it wants and the other side is just surviving on the scraps.

My money is on #2.

Nothing beats a good old fashioned verstappen temper tantrum. Surprised he wasn’t dq’d for deliberately driving into another car
A 10 second penalty for ramming another driver. That’s the first race I have seen in a couple of years and it is still rammel.
