Sorry but who are the “invitees” ?

You play in it by qualifying via your world ranking 🤷‍♂️

Is that not the same reason as last week - the rights to broadcast issue and it’s with the home Broadcaster

Some superb golf on show - maybe concentrate on that

What have the broadcasting rights got to do with what the DPWT put on their twitter feed?

Ah the Twitter feed

Maybe he isn’t looking right

There are a few more this morning as well

The WGC is the main event right now

Both the PGA and DP are focussed on it whilst both tours have other events going on

It’s no different to when a major is going on and the tours also have other events happening, the focus is on the event where all the main players are. That’s not rocket science

You claim to be all about the golf so concentrate on the golf going on instead of looking to snipe about the PGAT.

I'm not sniping about the PGAT, I'm highlighting the lack of exposure the DPWT is giving itself (the same tour you claim to be a big fan of). At the time of typing, there have been 3 tweets this morning. One saying play is underway, 1 showing a gazelle, and 1 saying it's the halfway stage. They need to do better.

It’s a sunshine tour event, not exactly a big event so no surprise they are concentrating on the WGC in Texas.

Well I guess at least this time next year they'll be able to focus more on the "doesn't matter" tour, given that the PGAT event is that good, it's going in the bin ;-)

Why ? Nobody is following that DP event. No more than nobody was following the LIV one that nobody really knew was on last week. You cant tweet a tournament to success. Tweets are a measure of nothing in real sport. The matchplay is this weeks golf tourny, full stop.

Hey come on Mel you know the rules, anything anti PGA isn't allowed or the wannabe mods will come down hard on you.
Anything anti LIV is a free for all and encouraged though (y):ROFLMAO:;)

These two semi finals have the potential to be very low scoring

Burns starting off like a steam train 3 up after 3 with a great putt on 3

The Rory/Young match is going to a birdie fest and Rory will have someone driving the same distance

Tweet count seems to be a peculiarly LIV metric, perhaps because it can be manufactured! Acual viewership, either by reall numbers or percentage, is far more reliable imo, and, at around half the previous event's numbers, last week's LIV event would have been disappointing imo. The Matchplay is by far the most attractive golf event to watch thi week - as its replacement will likely be next year!

Nice Euro 1&2 (Wallace & Hojgaard) in the second of the three 'PGA Tour' group tournaments this weekend 👍 And a 1st place in the third (Skinns)

What a flat finish last night. Firstly, the consolation match was the final everyone wanted, and it felt that both Rory and Scottie were going through the motions a little. Secondly, Young didn’t turn up. Sam Burns played exceptionally well and deserved to win, but a one sided final was a real anticlimax.

This seems to happen quite a lot at this event. 5 rounds of golf to get to the final day, the players are usually drained (mentally more than physically) and the errors creep in.

I love match play, but the Sunday finale only involves 4 tired players and often lacks action so I understand why it is being shelved for now.

Feels a bit harsh, Burns was -8 for the last 10 holes he played last night, not sure anyone couldve lived with that. If that had been McIlroy it wouldve been one of the greatest performances ever and the greatest tournament ever etc etc

Totally disagree re the tournament being shelved, such a breath of fresh air compared to yet another 72 hole strokeplay event, hopefully thy have a rethink after next year. Will be a shame to lose Austin as a venue too as quite different to the majority of PGA tour courses and some great risk/reward holes

Oh and scrap the 3rd/4th place play off, its just an air filler that no one wants to play

Sunday - 4 ball- skins- to mix it up.... :ROFLMAO:

I agree, epic event until the last rounds were played, either semi were entertaining enough to be a final.

Final was a let down but only due to it being a walkover.

There's been some seriously good golf played this week though, insanely low scoring - match play seems to get the players going!

What I would like to see is for it to go back to pure matchplay and remove the group stuff

Maybe reduce it down to the top 32 and then straight through matchplay from there.

You could run it like a chess tournament, i think its called the swiss system, a bit like a complicated squash ladder that means the best players usually play each other, and added bonus, all 32 players play every day....
