2 comps on one card?

Wasn't there a thing at the beginning of the year where the authorities had told clubs to stamp out separate handicaps from roll ups and similar?

Has that just been ignored or have regional bodies / clubs been active about it?
Affiliated clubs are not permitted to run "winter handicaps". This would include roll-ups/swindles that are run by clubs, however informally.
Clubs are also strongly encouraged to provide a course that is acceptable for handicapping throughout the year; something that eliminates the need for ad-hoc adjustments and/or bespoke handicap systems during the 4-6 months of 'winter' golf. However, controlling what individuals or groups do independently would be an impossible task.

clubs can’t really enforce what roll ups or swindle does tbh unless the club themselves run it

Don’t see the issue with it as long as all holes are completed (holes/picked up).

I used to put in GP cards while playing in a roll up sweep as well, don’t see it being any different.
Did you put in 1 card or 2?

If 2, why couldn't a player return 3 card for the same round.
1) Club monthly medal
2) Roll up medal
3) pre declared GP card

Nor should they try, if people want to arrange games amongst themselves, and choose to handicap it differently it's up to them.
I've seen all sorts of informal systems used including flexible handicapping according to the match position. Some according to whose won, it's for fun not for rigid rules.

Technically 2 I guess? Marked my score on the EG app as I was going round then handed the physical card to the guy who was running the sweep (not a club run comp). Everything played by the rules and all holes completed, I don’t see an issue?

Isn’t this like saying you couldn’t put a GP card in while also playing your mate for a pint?

I cannot see how it is legitimate to use the score from one physical round for two or three handicap qualifying scores.
I see no issue with it being used for more than one competition.

Is it being used for more than one handicapping score?
My reading is that it is being used for a qne qualifying score and secondly informally for a local unrecognised handicap used solely in an informal format.

That is what I queried in post #8 but I didn't get a direct reply.

Also now that I’ve had my morning coffee, can you even do 1 and 3? Surely the club medal would rule out a GP round and the handicap secretary would remove the GP round?

That’s not the case here. It’s playing in the club sanctioned competition while also playing in an informal, outside run sweep.

During the winter we will often play a game of doubles while also playing in the club winter sweep. Is that any different?

Of course you can’t do 1 and 3. I think rulefan was trying to make some sort of point, just not sure what.

I simply can't see how one card/scoring round can be used for more than one handicap qualifying score.
I see no reason that it couldn't be used for multiple competition results

There isn’t 2 qualifying scores, the society is an unofficial winter league with society handicaps. Therefore non qualifying
