Have our annual Enmore stag comp 36 holes tomoz open to men up to 12 handicap. Now I never entered this year due to having a new baby daughter may 3rd and not playing that much or well just gone up to 6.5. But my wife said that I could play so stuck my name down. I have just got a call from pro saying he has got good and bad news. Good news is that im playing. bad news is im playing with the county champ off +4 and a local member off +1 he asked if I still wanted the slot. I said yes have I done the right thing. I'm hoping they will rub off on me but part of me says don't let your self down. I normally play in a group of mates off between 3 and 8 but + handicaps will be a different class.

Off 6.5 and you're worried? It'll be a breeze, you should just see them hit a lot of fairways and greens... it can literally be boring at times!

Play your own game and enjoy.

Go for it.

Enjoy the company and play your 'normal' game, rather than trying to keep up with them (which will destroy your game). As you should still be capable of a few birdies, it'll really only the number of birdie opportunities they have and their ability to recover that's different from you. I play reasonably frequently with a couple of (nearly/past) touring Pros and that's the real difference.

their short game will be exceptional, cant see a big difference in long game with your h/cap, they were there once so go out and enjoy it

Which group are you in? There is nobody off +4 on the start sheet. I'm off at 9:20, never played the course so will be interesting to see how I get on

id jump at the chance to play off people with that handicap. just to see and learn from them. i would get slightly pissed off if they are driver-wedge merchants. i would like to see them having to scramble a bit. a bit of wind would make it intresting!

go for it bud. enjoy. you play off 6. thats low in my book!

Last group on the 10th playing with m kippen +1 and someone else who the pro said was county champ off +4 unless he got it wrong. enmore is a good course been a member since I was 9 some 30 years ago

Enjoy playing with Mr Kippen, don't expect much in the way of sparkling conversation though

Whats not to love. Decent event, good opponents and fine weather. I wouldn't be too fussedif Mr Kippen didn't say much during the round although I'd be a tad frustrated if there was no conversation waiting on tee boxes etc. You can't be that focussed on your own game that much and for that long.

Hope it's gone well nice day and hope the company turned out fine, got to be joy a joy to play with good golfers and off your handicap no way will you feel out of place.

Is this Enmore near Bridgewater?

If it is I've been offered a game there in August with my wife's Aunt.
Is it worth the trip?
