£160 golf shoes

Marketing has very little to do with Product; it has an enormous to do with Psychology - and culture.
A well known brand of premium Whisky publicised it price reduction in Japan - and sales dropped massively!
Stella Artois. Reassuringly Expensive... Remember that campaign?

£100 max for shoes, just got the 2012 fj sport boa for £90 instead of £120. Shop around!

That's a cracking deal, I bought a pair of 2011 contour boas just after Xmas for £80. Although I have just taken them back to my pro as they have leaked on every round I've played in, even when it not been raining!

Is £160 the new magic number for golf shoes?
i have came across a few at this price and even a pair of gutties (for those who dont know what gutties are, trainers plimsoles,in this case golf shoes with no spikes ) Lol
do you think this is a bit steap or just they way things are?

Yes....... And not just now. £160 for a pair of shoes is expensive anytime or in any financial climate!

If you want expensive shoes, look at the Adler Website, handmade, look great but around £300/£400. Now if I had shoes like that I would want a shirt that had avertising on it to draw everyones attention to them, and, would you dare to leave them in the locker room?

Just back from American Golf and they had the Ecco Street shoe thingy in, but theyre £110 there, not £160, so if thats the shoe for you, go to AG ;-)

I saw them and had to ask if they were a real golf shoe and could you wear them on any golf course. They look like Van trainer nothing to do with golf! Look comfy mind, wouldnt mind a pair if I thought you could use them anywhere. I bought a pair of Adidas in the end, really comfy and very pleased :-)

My Icon My Joys are only £150 from my pro and that obviously includes a mark up for the individual design. Not sure what their new XPS-1 are going for now as these were out with a RRP of £199 when they were first released. I'm sure these must have tumbled as I can't see anyone paying that much for a shoe no matter what the technology behind them is

£160 in my pro shop

No point in paying much for shoes IF you don't look after them.
3yrs ago, I picked up 2 pairs of FJ Classics in the USA, bargain at $159 per pair (£100), and they are still absolutely fantastic, and I expect they still will be 5yrs from now. However, I look after them well, perhaps obsessively well, I hate mucky golf shoes.

Must admit to not really being a shoe cleaner. My last pair of footjoys lasted 7 years with just a few cleans. After I bought my contour boas though they were cleaned after every round, if the airline at the club was working they would be blasted first. Then when home brushed down with a small brush, then cleaned with baby wipes. Then every couple of weeks a light dubin. This didn't really help as they still leaked and sent them back!

I bought a pair of Nike Lunar Golf shoes for £100 and they have never let me down. They are also the the most comfy golf shoes that i have tried on and do not regret my decision in anyway. You have to think are these shoes going to last you 3+ seasons and if they are its probably worth paying the money as what you will receive is quality that wont let you down
