I stumbled across Hannah Holden Golf on YouTube this morning.

She explains a number of basic rules that are often misunderstood by new, (and experienced), golfers and I would suggest to anyone who feels that their rules knowledge is lacking should watch the videos she's posted. She has a very easy way of explaining rules that are often broken without resorting to being too technical.

Just give her a look in

Thought you were going to tell us she got one wrong!

I have subscribed to her, haven't watched that one yet though.

Even if players know the rules the videos are worth a refresher, especially as there has been changes recently to some rules as well as names of various things e.g. Penalty area/hazards

:) "recently", water hazards changed to penalty areas in 2019! :)

Made a mistake previously on a rule's video which I found quite amusing :)

Enjoy watching her though, agree with Chris she has a very easy way of explaining the rules, I've even used one of her videos to explain a rule my lad wasn't sure of.

Yeah, only problem is her accent. I was wondering what 'nerts' were the other day when I realised she meant notes.

Out of curiosity, I have just watched two of her videos. Buyer beware. I spotted some pretty fundamental errors in both. In fairness, the errors in the bunker video were endorsed/overseen by a PGA rules guy.

There are dozens and dozens of short videos (generally each one is less than a minute or two) available via the R&A Rules app. They are worth a watch. Just follow the 'Learn' link at the bottom of the home screen.

I didn't watch this particular video, but what I did see all were correct as far as I could recall. I also liked the uncomplicated way she put the message across.

Not sure what you were looking for Chris!!!

I just had a quick look and think that you should be ashamed of yourself - particularly as one of the senior patriachs of this forum. This is what came up for me

I reckon I could do a video like that.

I've mentioned this before, but she's really showing off her new physique, following a fitness spell. She shows exercises, all related to golf.

She would receive regular comments on her NCG channel telling her how big she was etc and I'm really pleased she's 'showing off' her endeavours.

I like her channel and wish her well.

I had the last scenario the other week. Felt like I was cheating, but I consoled myself that I would have hit a huge divot … and I was not damaging the course.

Also watched this one. The referee was pretty good, except a couple things I noted:
- referees shouldn't go into bunkers
- when using the two stroke penalty unplayable option to drop out of the bunker, it's "back-on-the-line" relief and the ball must be dropped on the line. There isn't a one club-length "relief area" on either side of the line for the drop.

...and, of course, the bit where he (incorrectly) said that the lateral relief area for an unplayable ball is one club length and she made a great demonstration of measuring out that relief area.

No rule was broken in measuring out a relief area that was smaller than it needed to be, but it was a pretty fundamental error in an instructional video.
